Hell naw :lol: Where did you get that idea from?

My 2500 works perfectly. I doubt I will have hardware issues because I take care of my gear.

I did have to send it to Akai because I had this issue with my LCD not displaying characters when I attempt to update the OS. I was the only person in the forums that had this problem. Akai fixed this problem for me and I am happy to have my babygirl at home..........

My MPC 3000 have some pads that need to be replaced...so I am sending it off to VST for repair.

I hear ya, but I take care of my gear too probably better than my children :wink: I dont even bang on my pads that hard at all and still this issue came up. It's bullshyt. I got this unit when it first hit the market I think it wasnt built right from the door built I'll revive her and she'll be good as new. :P

My take is that they are massed produced like many other electronics. There probably is a bad apple in every so many...that's why its so great to have a warranty to just send it back.

My 2500 has the black pads installed. They seem to be so much softer and better feeling than the grey pads. So far, I have no issue or complaints about the pads on the 2500.

okok I thought it was the pads ....my bad...yeah I take care of my shit also ....had my 2000 for 7 years with out a problem....but had to get the pads fixed on my 2500... maybe my drum hands got heavyer..NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had my MP for 3 month when the same problem appeared. Went to the musicstore and got a new one. PF

Erase+Power on solved my problem. Hasnt done it since. Knock on wood. :)

i haven't had any problems with mine so far. but then again i've only had mine for about 2 months.
