How is 1.51??? Enuff for me to get a 4000

Go get a 4000 you wont regret it!!! One thing is ease of use, best sequencer, 4 midi outs and the fact you can build the dopest Drum and sample libraries in this unit..I cant do that easily on my Motif even though i love it for its great sounds and tight sequencer.....You get thirsty for new sounds and find out that no matter how many sound modules you have you still need to "Roll your Own"..Buy it if you got the Cash..The 8000 is Whack I've been playing with it and I hate it becoming utterly frustrated wit its user unfriendliness!! 1.51 is SOLID no bugs at all..I'm a beta tester I'd know

in some cases its better to go with leading edge over cutting edge. not sayin the MV is cutting edge but I dont know enough about it to say that it isnt. Shit I still finding my way around my 4k even after I think I know it in and out It still pops up with something knew to learn. Like I told you before I would choose the 4k over anything might be short sighted but I havent heard anything mind blowing about anything else out there. if you're going to take the champs belt you gootah knock'em out cold.

MPC 4000 is now officially the sickest drum machine on the block again. finally i say thank you akai. now if you don't have one yet, you can go buy with confidence and my blessing

MIDI CLOCK/MTC/SMPTE are standard.

Word Clock is optional

I drag n' drop samples into Ak.sys which then gets fed (via USB) into the 4k. That's only way I'm doing it coz of the already stored samples on my Mac. If I was gonna sample something then I'd use my Apogee A/D converter, get it into my Mac HD then drag n' drop into MPC to get best results.

As for CDs/CD ROMs I'd copy onto my Mac HD then drag n' drop again. You don't really need the CD ROM & MPC HD - this is why they're optional rather than standard & keeps the price down (which is great especially if you don't have use for it). I think this is the way if you have a mass storage system, otherwise that option is handy.

Nope, Labworkz's askin'bout the 4K Plus. The Plus's got stereo digital in/out + wordclock as standard (and 272MB RAM, HD + CD-RW). Me thinks it's a US model.
