Your sound module must be in your neighbors house down the street - I usually just reach over about a foot and turn the knobs on my sound module till I find the sounds I'm looking for (while the sequencer is still playing) - But what ever works for you - Like I said before, The MPC1000 is probably one of the best pieces of gear Akai has ever made!!!

I'm not talking about to preview a sound I'm talking to actually record the midi sequence with a different program bank #
Sure anybody can do that, what good is having the mpc
as the main sequencer slash midi controller to change the
sound banks? . Dont you know anything ? If you make lets
say a sequence using 12 midi programs each having different
sounds= 1a grand piano bank 12/ strings 2a bank 78/ bassline
3a bank 101/ gtrs 4a bank 96/ melody 5a bank 67/ drums 1b
bank 10 and etc. all those sounds have different sound bank
numbers which you can change with the data wheel on the
mpc2000xl . I can create an entire sequence without my hands
ever leaving the mpc or stopping my sequence with the 2000xl.
I dont have to touch none of my outboard gear either my motif
or my sound module to go from one sound to another that I want
record.
I'm not just talking about midi channels, You do know the
difference between a midi channel and a program bank don't you?
Check it !!! I'm using my sound module in a multi timbral set up
with my motif es 6.
I can go from start to finish flipping from different midi channels
and program bank sounds without ever stopping my main groove.
I don't have to do the program insert that 1000 users have to do.
I don't know what kind of producer you are ?
But when I'm feeling a certain groove and then have to stop
my sequence from playing, Then go into windows to select a
sound from one of the 12 x 128 banks of sounds that my
sound module has, It can be tedious and boring .It's like riding
the train with your walkman bumping some hot exclusives and
your batteries go dead,.and the korean man that sells batteries
aint on the train today .
The way I got my studio setup I can dial any sound from either
my motif or the proteus with the data wheel.
I create my own music not music created by others .
The only thing in my neibhors house is some one playing some
one else's records looking for samples

trying to be Kanye,
Primo or somesH!t waiting to get sued by that 70 year old man
who got paid 200 dollars to record the song, and now he
want's half of that platinum plaque
