Alternative 'JJ' OS for the MPC2500 coming in November

Wrong thread if you are talking about a 1000. If you are talking about the MPC 2500, you may want to learn how to use it first before worrying about a new OS with added features.......the 2500 does have 'recordable track mutes.'

would be nice to have a key mapping feature in JJ's OS. If the new OS allowed to map whatever sounds I want from my keyboard to mpc's pads I'd get it just for that...

I have both 1000 and 2500 and still havnt tried JJ o.s. for the 1000. I still have to see the finished product be consistant first, let alone download one to my 2500. I have enough problems already. I wish it success none to less so mabe it will change my mind about using it. We can always use a little more to help productivity. No matter what my beats stay dope anyway.

hmm...i'm having no problems using my mpc2500 and thats why you don't see my posting a thousand newbie questions. i wasn't aware that the mpc2500 had recordable track mutes...if you're talking about "Record Mix Changes", then i am aware of this. but the 'rec. mutes' integration i am looking for is like that of the mpc4k's.

btw, Jahrome instead of being an indignant grandmal about everything, maybe you should loosen you girdle and stop taking shots at folks. i mean, i as of this post am not aware of recordable mutes working in the mpc25k. that doesn't make me an idiot nor some jerk with funds and no talent. i simply means i am unaware of this feature.

if you're aware of how to accomplish this beyond the 'record mix changes' then why not enlighten me/the forum with this knowledge instead of making it an opportunity to spit your lame a$$ transparent bs.

Well...I do have somethings to share from time to time inbetween jokes/insults. But your thread seems to imply that you had some knowledge about what your MPC has and doesn't have. I apologize..I didn't know you were a newbie that didn't take the time to learn what your MPC can do. I thought you were an experience MPC 2500 user that didn't take the time to learn what your MPC can do

Also.....I usually reserve most jokes for 1000 users and MPC 4000 users that cry about their tools. Note that I never call the 1000 an MPC

Sorry if you were offended..but I won't change. Create a thread or make a post about what an MPC doesn't do..when it actully has this feature, I got jokes. Don't be so sensitive.

Will be interesting to see this, i just hop it looks as clean as the Akai OS. Some fo the screens on the 1000 version seem cluttered and a little ugly.

if the release of the nos for the 2500 is anything like what the 1000 is gonna be like, there'll be a demo which won't be able to save that you can safely load and try out.

to whoever asked if all the current features of the 2500 will be there, yeah i think they will. however, they're still hammering out the direct record function - at this moment the 2500 one works flawlessly (right?) and the JJ one does not. hopefully they'll get that figured out.

the grid edit is different, too apparently. there is no 3 pad view, insteadi t's 6 pads (you choose which 6) and 16 pads. honestly, although i haven't directly experienced the 2500 8/8 pad view personally, i think i'd prefer the 8/8. but then again i'm doign fine on the beta w/ 16 pad view right now. at a point it all comes down to convenience, which isn't always a great thing for your music.

this is all really preemptive, but just try out the demo when/if it comes in november. maybe by then they'll create some new featuers for both machines - if i have my way, it'll be the pad chop technique i've been yammering about for a while.

mostly what'll push the jj os ahead of the akai os is the save/load, the pad 11 global paarms, the qlink stuff and some other junk here and there.

i don't know if it'd be worth buying though. depends on how you use your 2500.
