Wrong file???HEEEEELLLLPPPP...

Well, I have not been able to fix this problem so far. But I do appreciate all the feedback. If there is a way to have this corrupted file fixed, even if I have to pay someone, someone please let me know!!!

Also, I tried to upgrade my OS to 1.22 3 time and each time I could ony get it to 98% done and then it would just freeze forever. After rebooting and going to the "other" screen, it shows my OS as being 1.22.
Any clue?? I'm not confident that it was fully installed any of the 3 times....

How did you install the OS? DId you insert the CF card with the OS on it and turn the unit on while holding down the WINDOW key?

No, not originally but just yesterday, that's what I did and it finally worked. I had to use an empty(except the bin file) CF card for it to work though. I caled tech support and they told me to just add the bin file to an existing CF card and do the resart/window button thing but that wouldn't work until I used a newly formatted CF card and added just the bin file...
Hey jahrome, do you have any experince with blue box or any other MPC software program??

Because I wanted to check what other people reported, I used another CF card than the one supplied with the unit yesterday to upgrade my OS. And guess what, it froze after writing 98% while I was following the official installation instructions.

Using another card with the Hold-window-button-while-powering-up method worked properly - however there were multiple other files on that card along with the BIN file, seems to be no problem.

I wrote the BIN onto both cards with my PC-installed card reader.


Edit: I was mistaken, it was not the factory card that worked...it was a small card I got with my digital cam, which I used for all recent updates already with no problems.

I have MPC editor somehwere. But I haven't used it in awhile. I also have Recycle which is what I used for chops before the 2500 was released.

Hey Jahrome, the last thing I want to try to use to save the beat that originally caused me to start this thread was some type of mpc editor or blue box. I havn't been able to find the blue box joint online yet and I think MPC editor is for the 2000/2000xl series not 2500. I need to see if any program out there can reconize my corupt .pgm file so I can save it..
Any ideas??

man i dont know what the hell it is but say i sample a commercial save the program to a file in the internal hd, was working great like a week ago now almost every other program will state wrong file!! when i try to load samples play i dont know is it the hardware or os? i have 1.22 mpc 2500

Hey thanks BDRAKE, but as you thought, it didn't work. Blue box wouldn't completely open the file also. it did open a couple of sounds out of it though but not the whole .pgm
