help wit alesis 25 keyboard..

Hey everyone, wasup? jus got this keyboard the other week, its jus a midi controler so no sounds loaded on the board. One of the main problems is that when i have my samples using the 'note off' function they carry on playing when i use the keyboard, they work fine with the mpc pads but they dont kill when i take my finger off the keys.
Another prob is that i cant get any effects which the keyboard has apart from the 'transpose' working either, dunno if u need to do a sample dump or anything thing like that.
Anyone who has this keyboard or knows anythin bout it their help would be much appreciated.

you can use it to play keys, and control the Nv slider, nothing else really. enjoy.
