I just recently bought the mpc 2kxl and installed a card reader. i am lovin this piece but im hearin so much about the 3000 and the sound of it. i know its based on preference. i prefer a wide range of frequency on drums, not just the 2kxl's mid ridden sound. i tend to like the sound of dilla's drums over kev browns. but i also want the hr 824's over my wack bookshelf speakers, which i found for $850. i want to know if the 3000 is worth it to skip on the 2kxl w/ hr824 set up.

heres a taste of my first 2kxl beat (16 Pads). the rest are PC.

The 3000 sounds warmer in the lower freq's
get the mackies and keep the xl and learn how to mix & process your sound before sampling
that way you can get a good sound out of any sampler
the sound that black milk gets from his 2000xl is verry nice!

Get the Mackies, they are probably the BEST purchase I have made for my studio so far...
