im about to airbrush the red parts of it. what color do you think it should be???

By Agent725 Wed Feb 18, 2004 10:08 pm
how are you going to airbrush?
I would suggest scuffing or sanding the surface first then using a special plastic primer before you paint. Ive painted alot of the interior parts of my car with this method and they seem to have come out good.
BTW if you go to Pepboys they have a spraypaint that has metal chips in it that looks really nice too.
but when you do it post some pics please I am really interested on how it comes out

but dont you void the warrenty by doing this.

That weird pastel/panic red is not the coolest.. I experimented a bit in Photoshop with the big akai image that shows the mpc1000 panel from right above. Try it. Here's what I found: a mellow, quite dark turquoise. Think that's my favourite. Then a lot of british racing green shades. Ecobeatmachine. :D Charcoal/dark grey was also neat. Plain black looked a bit stale to me somehow. And I second what Agent said, textured (or matte) paint would probably look even better.

yellow sides with blue writing(mpc1000) inside
or vice versa
blue sides with yellow writing,
of course the same blues and yellows as the mpc. the akai site has a link to a place that customizes mpc's
they got a bunch of tight pictures to chesk out

im gonna wait until mines out of guarantee!

i think turnkey or akai might get abit fishy if it needed a repare and it was painted!

Wood end cheeks made out of nice red oak or cherry would look sweet.

I guess I'm the only one that likes the red. I wish the blue parts were red and the sides were white. Btw, red is my favorite color, :D .

True to that. I like the Red that's there too, it's agressive...The more color in my studio the better. I'm sick of Khaki, Black & Grey steel-o all gear was for like 20 years. I think manufacturers are starting to take note of this.

I like the red too. Doesn't 'Akai' mean 'Red'? I'm sure I saw that on here...
