no, limiting yourself is ONLY sampling soul, homeslice. to clarify, that comment was directed to DJ T, who is still bitter that he got his ass handed to him a while back after he sampled a large section of a well known soul song in a beat battle, then complained when i used the standard mpc function of a filtersweep in my beat

No one has never paid,and will not pay. Take that back some will pay for the os,but most will not pay. You'll have a MPC user email several copy's of the New OS,then those that got it for free will brag. I believe you will be able to get it for free.

No payment for recent MPC OS....but back in the day, I believe you had to pay to have the MPC 60/3000 fitted with OS updates that were installed on EPROM.

but yaeh actually the 1k is my first mpc, i've had it for nearly 2 years. before that it was Acid and Reason.

nym u should rent a xl or a 2000 or even a 3000 just to get the feel of some of the older features ...so u can convince jj to implment them in upcoming os's ...u seem to be the man in contact with them the most I could be wrong but word...even if u wanna holler at me .. I ll give u a list of shit that I would loveeeeeeee to see back in the newer os's....like open window in mixer to set your mixer levels to a certin number instead of guessing with the meter....WORD

definitely give me a list, i'd love it. simult is pretty high these days on said list. as of right now most of my ideas come from just general ease of use, like "oh, this would make navigation a breeze" or "this is a handy shortcut."

but my ideas are just that, my ideas - i wouldn't think of stuff from older models (simult) because, well, i haven't experiened them. if you can give me some hints in that respect (and explain their useage fully, cuz if i've never used them then the odds are i wouldn't know how to use em) i'd be glad to pass em on to JJ

i'm not really the man in contact at all, haha i'm basically just the loudest/most excited - but they've implemented stuff i've suggested so it seems that that's all it takes.

LIST:

The 2000xl's sample edit features are sorely missed: Sample merge and insert section. It would be awesome if we could get those back, especially since the 2500 was supposed to be an "upgrade" from the 2kxl. Mabye even throw in a sample "layer" feature eh??

simult- link 3 pads together
open window mixer- the ablity to set volume meters aswell as pans with numbers
