starting to get wrong file error

at first i was going ok now im getting wrong error more and more when i try to load programs and sequences, at 1st it was when i loaded things from my flash card now its happening with my hard drive. the hard drive is the 40gig thats listed as approved on akai sight anybody else having this problem?

Thats funny I get the WrongFile Bug when loading things off my harddrive not my CFcard....The work around is to create a new folder before working on a project then save Entire Memory to the new folder then delete the old one. It seems to happen if you make changes to a program and then save it to the old file. Seems stupid but it's working , so go with it.

Please do a search. It's how you save, its a lot to get into but simple solution.

Didnt pay attention to this comment but yes that is the answer. havnt had the problem since.

Hey BDRAKE, is that the only answer for the problem(creating new folders and files when I make changes) to save all my seq's and pgm's ? Is this an os problem that should/will be fixed or is this something Akai recomends to do somewhere in the manual that I didn't see?
I lost a very important beat after I updated it and resaved it to my internal HD(80 gb hitachi Akai recomended). All I get is a "wrong file" message when I try to load it..

Sorry it took so long to respond. There was a problem overwriting files when not saved as a project. I had the same problem also but there was peopl;e who never had this error because they used this method.

We are still trying to get a fix for this but in the meantime treat all your beats as a project and if you are just saving samples make a file just for that with no programs just samples then load them into projects as you need. I have not had a problem since I have been doing this.

Also remember to back up EVERYTHING!!

I spoke with akai tech support he reccomended that i make sure i have the latest os and then backup files from hard drive and cf card then format both then reinstalled saved files. ive done the formatting and everything but i havent gotten a chance to put the mpc to the test yet i,ll keep y,all updated

Formatting definitely works....If you format every couple of projects things will work smoother. I think the Mpc should have a way of Defraging or organizing to keep things in order.

I think I've mentioned this in another post before, but when I load an already existing project and wanna save edits to it, I save it as BEAT 95A (if the original folder name was BEAT 95). If you make another edit to it, BEAT 95B. It's way easier to keep track of it.
