The MPC 2500 now has the ability to record track mute events. Track mute recording
is off by default. To turn on track mute recording, do the following:
1. From the MAIN page, select the MUTE field.
2. Press the [WINDOW] key.
The TRACK MUTE EVENT page will open.
3. select the USE TRACK MUTE EVENTS field and change it to ON.
Also note, a convenient shortcut to the SEQ EDIT page has been added here. Press
[F2] (EDIT) to access the SEQ EDIT page. As further convenience, the VIEW field in
SEQ EDIT is set to TRACK MUTE automatically when SEQ EDIT is accessed in this
way.
Once USE TRACK MUTE EVENTS has been set to ON, pressing [PLAY] and [REC] or
[OVERDUB] in the TRACK MUTE window will allow track mute events to be recorded.
Track mute events are only recorded when in the TRACK MUTE page. TIMING
CORRECT settings will affect the recording of track mute events.
Also, please note, TRACK MUTE is now an available event to be selected in the SEQ
EDIT and STEP EDIT pages.

How about a proper realtime 16 or 32 step sequencer mode!!!

Or a clipboard feature where you can copy and paste multiable midi notes/ phrases anywhere in a sequence. The 4000 has this.

I would also like to see something in the q link where i can move the selected portion of my sample around:

If i have a start and end point highlighted in the sample edit view, the q link slider could move that alotted highlighted length to the begining or end of the sample. Linda like the envelope but much more flexible.

Hopefully this OS has more of a focus on live sample manipulation and sequencing and not too much effects stuff.

I was not trying to start a fight. We were just talking about JJ/AKAI/NUMARK conspiracy theories. In other words, ficition..nothing based on facts.

not sure if this has been mentioned, couldnt be arsed to read the whole thread, but akai or whoever needs to hook up a better zoom mode when editing samples and allow you to select more than one event when erasing midi notes.

Just curious...(assuming that you have an MPC 2500), have you ever owned previous model MPCs or hardware sequencers?

good lookin out Timothy. i did eventually find the recordable track mutes in the addendum.

now, back to the lab!

i would love this feature...

in trim mode, after you're done zoning everything, i think it would be cool if we can go back and edit the zones instead of starting a new program and we can't go back and edit it.

so a feature that would save our sample with the zoning still there but we can still play the sample like we usually do when we start a new program.

does this make sense?

this would be GREAT if we had that feature.

Yes i do have 2500 and to be honest having come from a computer sequencer background i find some of the effort involved in using the mpc a pain. But it is one of the best gadgets i have ever bought. I wish i either had more free time to figure it out or someone to give me a one-to-one tutorial using it. why do you ask, im presuming that it does these things which is why you quoted me?

the zoom function on it is weak period after coming from a computer sequencer.

Zoom In/Out works fine for me, what else could they possibly add to the zoom function??
