you also get 4 individual outs, plus the main stereo out and optical SPDIF in/out. and two midi outs and one midi in. - not true, you get 2 midi inplus two footswitches jacks.
Here are the possible upgrades:
*CF cards (pay) for storage
*RAM (pay) up to 128 mb (16mb installed will not be used then) if you buy from computer store, you have to buy 256mb in order to get 128mb
*OS upgrade: get 3.05 from the JJ site (search the forum), this is free and I highly recommend it.
*HD installation kit (pay): if you want to mount an internal hard drive (80Gb max). not true. i'm using 100gb
*internal HD (pay)
If you use a PC for sample editing, you may want also to consider buying a card reader for your PC to swap samples to and from the CF card. This is highly recommended because connecting the MPC to a PC via a USB cable is definitely cumbersome.
but fam. if you do get it, i would strongly recommend you gett the RAM upgrade first. but everything that you would need to get is all under $100 each. the HD kit (HDM10) cost $29.00, you can get 2gb CF cards for under $50. (if you search good) you can get the RAM (256mb) for under $50. and you can get a 100gb hard drive for around $100 but if you can live without everything else, i would get the RAM first.
