Can the MPC1000 slice / chop (zone/patchphrase) samples?

Hi everyone, i have seen a youtube tutorial with my own eyes on how you can auto chop (segment) samples in the 2500 .........& the 1000? the video showed a MPC1000! but can't do this on my own MPC 1000 and can't find anything to support this on akai's specification pages, can any one help?
PLEASE, I NEED TO KNOW THE TRUTH.

Which version of the OS do you have on your 1K? The chopping/patchphrasing etc. didn't come until OS 2.0/2.1. If you go to
the support section on www.akaipro.com, you can download the latest Akai OS. Also remember to download the installation instructions there so that you know how to run the update.

After you update, you might find that your screen backlight comes on, but that you can't see any text. This is just a contrast issue, and you can solve it by holding the shift key and rotating the data wheel clockwise.
