As a matter of fact. I notice since the addition of the 500, Akai does'nt show the 2000xl on their comparison chart anymore. I wonder why?

But if anyone ends up paying $1299 for a MPC-500, then them folks must have saw you coming and prep'd the vaseline before hand. Because you (no reflection on you) my friend have just gotten f**ked.

lol....

as much negative things I have said about the 500, I still have to say that I'm happy akai is still putting out hardware instead of going the all software direction just to be safe. EMU and others have done this because hardware is risky, so I would rather have a 500 out there than a akai virtual mpc. and the 3500 sounds interesting. the 500 would actually be amazing with the features it has if it were $$499.

akai is out of control.. it makes no sense to keep dropping new mpcs if you havent improved the quality of the already existing mpcs..

It does when you know that you are going to make more money off new products then what you would if you were just improving old ones!!!!

What is wrong with your MPC? I use my 1000 every day and the only OS problem i run into is that when I first try to save everything it gives an error...but everytime after that it doesn't. I can live with that.

nothing is wrong with my XL other than the data wheel.. and im praying my screen doesnt go bad.. but--

look at that 500.. you see the cursors they put on it? they are the same as the 2500. they need to upgrade the 1k controls so that the damn thing lasts. i sold my last 1k cuz the thing felt like a damn game boy.. cheap as hell..

but its all about the hustle.. so i know they dont give a shht as long as the dough keeps flying in..

I don't see where my question was answered there. It says 4 pad banks...which means A, B, C, and D... but not if when you are in a program...you can stack 4 different samples on top of each other on each pad...unless I'm blind.
