the MPC2000 doesnt have pitch shift?!

Is that true?!! I knew about time stretch but that... is striking.

If so, whats the easiest way to simulate pitch shift, or what software does it best/most convenient?
I'm talking especially about shifting a sound to higher note without making it shorter.

True pitchshifting, where the key is changed but the length remains the same requires that the sample is tuned, then timestretched back to length. So as the MPC2000 has no timestretch, it can't have pitchshift.

The only option on the 2000 is to tune the sample, and sacrifice the length.
