i'm sure you guys see how much better this would make the qlinks. when i was drawing/taking notes on this over the course of a day and a half my brain was buzzing. it's very exciting - this would explode the 1000/2500.

this is the kind of thing that if akai had implemented it, they wouldn't even have to be thinking about competing with sp404s and other roland grooveboxes...

granted this feature is probably more advanced than the avg 1000 user can muster up courage to explore, but they'll either A, get there eventually, or B, rot in hell

Find a Roland R-70 drum machine from the early 1990's and check how this feature was already implemented on that box. I had two of them for many years.

STEP EDITING
The data slider controlled a vertical bar (like fruity loops/ or the Dave Smith Evolver software) for each step as you zoomed in and out of the step editing. The default view was 16 steps which made selecting a step very easy for the sound you wanted to edit because you'd simply pick a drum sound by pressing it's pad, then go into step edit and each pad brought your cursor to that step.

You could change whatever parameter was assigned to the fader and it was controlling and then move right and left across the grid by press any of the 16 drum pads (which then moved the cursor to that specific step), or by using the left/right step cursors and you'd move the data fader up or down to set your data (pitch/velocity/panning/etc. It worked perfectly and was the best feature of that machine.

I'm already creaming myself. I've been waiting patiently until the official JJ OS dropped before installing it, and I'm Black Rob'ing it like whoa.

Today is the first time I'm playing with all these new features and I'm incredibly impressed as is. My favourites aspect isn't even any of the new features and abilities, it's simply just how much more user friendly the layout of everything is. It would be worth the $30 for that alone.

I'm excited that there is more coming. Nym keep looking for more ideas and implementations. It looks like they are responding to damn near every wish and concern there is in regards to this OS. Sh!t is incredible.

what betters the os betters my music. i will definitely keep up the work at my end.
