do you have the 1/4 inch outputs from the mpc goin into the 1/4 inch inputs on your interface? do you have the track in pt armed? Most importantly.....do you have the manuals that came with the thousands of dollars worth of gear youre using?

......DUDE i OBV have the 1/4....how else would my mac pro tools and my mpc be communicating....DUH... im just wondering y wen i record the beat to pro tools the line is straight like nothins ogin thorugh...then agian its midid so do i gotta turn somthin else on in pro tools for it to show>?

1/4 icnh cables dont make pt and the mpc "communicate", midi cables do that...

Did you assign the PT tracks to the correct mic line to which your mpc outs are going?

Did you enable midi in pro tools? (don't think this is the problem tho)

PT MIDI OUT to MPC MIDI IN?

MIDI > MIDI Beat Clock > Enable MIDI Beat Clock > Select your interface

looking at your name "mpc-feen" i think youve had enough. Your getting too crazy. You are an addicted "feen". You should give the mpc a break.
u will suffer from withdrawl at first, but its for the best.

Are you sure you set up the settings in the mpc to receive midi messages?!?!

By cooocooo1 Thu Sep 21, 2006 12:40 am
his problem is hes trying to record AUDIO ...

his midi settings have nothing to do with that, im still wondering if he has all the AUDIO in and outs hooked up....

without any midi cables hooked up to either piece of gear he would still be able to record the mpc if he had the AUDIO cables goin from the mpc out to the digi ins and had the inputs in pt set correctly and armed the track and hit record/play in pt and hit play on his mpc...
