Importance of Time Stretching & /// For Akai MPC 2000

Is lack of time stretching and slicing from akai mpc 2000 important or not?

I have time stretching and chopping software such as Adobe Audition 1.5 and Sound Forge 7.0 However, if I need time stretching and slicing, would it be ok if I use time stretching or slicing on my samples first before I import into my akai mpc 2000?

Hey, Pete, thanks, man. So it really doesn't matter? It's just that the time stretching and slicing feature is more of a convenient thing for mpc 2000xl? In other words, it saves you the trouble of loading a tiime stretched or sliced up sample?

Even some of the 2000xl users (with card readers) use software to time-stretch or chop samples and then load the stuff into the machine.It's just that stretching on the mpc 2kxl takes some more time,especially with longer samples.

BPM match takes only seconds with the same results as time stretch

i wouldnt want to give up the slicing feature in the xl but i almost never time stretch.

Well,I guess I'm the unlucky one who has to wait for a 1 bar loop to timestretch to the desired length...Of course it depends,whether you use mode A,B or C.I even read somwhere a mesage from one user (not at this forum),that his mpc strethces faster than his friend's one...Strange,I guess.
