Is an amp required for the mpc.

I just picked up the omega studio and here is the deal. It will recognize and record my sounds comming from my turntable via vestex mixer. However it doesn't play my music from my MPC when it is hooked up to it. Is an amp required.

You should be able to plug the MPC directly into the Omega and record. Make sure you have the correct inputs selected in the software you're using.

It's hard to say exactly what the problem is without knowing how you have everything setup.

Do you have to use the midi outs. I'm using the stereo outs

If you want to midi sync the MPC and whatever software you're using then you should also connect midi cables but since you seem to be having trouble recording anything at all I wouldn't worry about that right now. And just in case there's some confusion, you CANNOT record audio through midi cables.

I figured it out. One of the cables isn't working.
