I'm using Logic on a G3 Power Book and on G4 Desktop,
works best for me....
On my Powerbook I´m using the internal In/outs and on the desktop g4 I'm using emagic Audiowerk2 card. for recording I only use the spdif digital in/outs of the audiowerk. but iI#m thinking about a motu firewire interface.
a firend of mine is using it with his g4 powerbook....

I use a MPC3000 w/Pro Tools, a Digi001 and MPCPGMMaker. I had Logic and sometimes use Logic's, Fun. I'm not a midi head, nor a musician. I'm more of a sound man. I started out on radio producing programs. So my intro was Sound Tools and Q-Sheet back in the day. Pro Tools has enough Midi features for me. And the MPC is even more immediate for that, at least for my uses.

I use an MPC2000 and ProTools. I know Logic does a whole lot of stuff, but all the major studios usually use ProTools, so I just stuck with that. I also don't like all the problems people have w/ thier VST plugins, and all those cross platform joints, whereas protools has one format that runs smooth. 6 or 1, half dozen, etc.

MPC 1000. All sound shaping, creation and manipulation takes place in LOGIC 6 on my G4. Once I have some product, I record the whole thing into PRO-TOOLS (DIGI001) for sonic treatment -

Usually go from my MPC to Digi 001...

Use software like Peak, and Recycle to do edits and stuff...

i have both pt and logic.

i like pt better because the audio editing is so much faster and you can quantize the chop settings. so when everything's all synced up, chopping beats and getting all spastic on it is real simple. you can't do that in logic.

If I'm rockin any software MIDI sequences I use Logic to sequence. The control you have using the enviroment is unparalled. Ususally I'll record my audio into protools afterwards cuz its much easier to edit audio in Protools. When I'm playing gigs I use Ableton Live and sync the mpc up as a slave to that.

emceesshure... I been hearning alot about Ableton Live. What can it do for me that any other comprehensive midi program can't do? What can ableton do for you that logic and pt won't? Thanks
