memory upgrad

i searched and found nothing (search enigine kinda sux) but i just got my mpc 2000xl mcd today (horray) anyways i wanna upgrade the memory to 16 or 32 depends on how much is costs. so any sites that sell the specific memory? and is there a place that shows you how to DYI and is it easy for those who have done it themselves?thanks.

open the back pannel and insert the chips...

Get the memory from ebay...

Insert the memory that is farthest back first since you have to lean it in to install

Is there any way to detect the amount of memory installed on my MPC without cracking it open? I assume I only have the minimal amount because I only have 10 seconds worth of sampling time. any info helps thanks!@

Download the manual, it tells you how to check the ram installed on your 2k/2kxl.

AND the manual tells you how to do it yourself.

AND the manual talles you what RAM your machine needs.

Yall need to get into the manual more.

I acutally downloaded it and had it printed into a tangible format. To be honest I'm new to production and I've not been through the entire manual, whatev I suppose.

Edit: pg. 192 goes over memory expansion if anyone is curious >.>
