hello everyone. First time posting here, I just got my MPC2000XL in the mail today and i have a question about sampling. How can i sample from the TV? I used to own a BOSS SP-303 Dr. Sample which had RCA inputs that i could connect to the TV and sample from, but the MPC doesnt. It uses the same inputs as the headphone jack. Im a go to the store now and see if theres some kind of converter cable, but does anyone have any advice on this? Right now I cant sample from anything except a **** zip drive and i dont got a computer here. Your help is appreciated.

When I first got my mpc I used to sample from the radio's headphone jack...or if you got a mic you can sample pots n pans or whatever.

Yup i found a converter cable at the store. I do like the zip drive. i was just mad that i couldnt sample anything because i didnt have anytying that connects to the back, but now i can sample tv, movies, and cds, with the converter cable and my roomates xbox. This machine is a little confusing but im messin with it. I need to start collecting samples. Right now im learning how to edit the sample with TRIM and ZONE and shit. Thing i dont like about the sampler is that it doesnt have a "hold" button to jam live. Anyways, thanks for your replies, im a go hunt for samples now . . .

definately invest in a turntable dude, even if its cheap as hell. Seriously you might justify to yourself that you dont need one cause of cds, but once you get one it will make your life a whole lot easier-kind of like the floppy and zip thing, you need a zip otherwise itll suck.
plus its fun to look for obscure stuff at good will for $.50
