saving entire memory

I am having a problem when I try to save entire memory over itself. It does not seem to save. I says that it saved but when I load it later the project will not have saved any new stuff. I haven't done any os upgrade, I was kind of waiting to see how they were. any ideas?

The first time you save entire memory set replace same files field to NO. The next time you save the memory set replace same files field to YES.

and do those Os updates, they do nothing else except fixing bugs

Make sure you're saving to internal memory, if this is indeed what you're trying to do. Also make sure to save both all songs and sequences, and all programs and samples. There's 5MB of internal flash memory to work with, which is good enough for most kits.

If you're saving to the CF card, be sure to save into the Autoload directory, or it won't load. Also, when you hit Do It, be sure to follow up with A. Load on the choice screen.

Dunno if you've already done this and it's a buggy unit, figured I'd post it anyway.

I strongly disagree on this one Tank. Wherever you save it on your CF card, it does not make any difference. So sentence like: "be sure to save into the Autoload directory, or it won't load" is misleading. Cuz if you save it in another directory, you can still load it, but willl not be done automaticaly. Personally I'm against the Autoload feature, cuz you end up with 20 beats which are stored in the same directory. Basicaly, all you get is one big mess, in exchange for not going into the Load menu and loading manualy.


Now, back to the saving entire memory problem. I find that the 1000 has hard time with overwriting programs and sequences. So to go around this problem, I delete all the programs and all the sequences (on the CF card of cource) and then I save. That way everything is saved in freshly created files.

yea, I have been saving under different names just to be sure, but I will do the upgrades. But I think I wasn't replacing same files. Besides this I haven't had too manny problems. I have had two crashes when normalizing, but thats really it. Mostly I love the mpc.
