CAN I PLAY WITH MPC LIVE????????????

Hello everyone i'm from greece i have a band , the has two guitar players,one bass plyer,a drum player,a rapper, a vocalist and a dj i'm the that one.We play something like nu metal.Our songs except the instrunments i just told you about have lots of other stuff which we are programming in the computer.The problem is that i'm responsible of this stuff sound live without imprisoning the players under a metronome.So i ask everybody can MPC be my solution somehow.Excuse me for my english not being so good

It depends on what you want to do with it live. If you just want to bang on the pads live, sure that will work. Who is keeping the tempo in the band? If you don't want to imprison them with a metronome... then I assume they will be setting the tempo via drums and you will pretty much be out of luck in terms of running loops or sequences. Drummers can be good, but they can't keep an exact tempo and your sequences will go out of sync. For a live midi sequence to work properly the band needs to work off a steady beat. You could match to the DJ's beat if he's playing drums, but you will have to ride the tempo to stay in sync. To get the most out of it, MPC likes to be the master tempo.

You mentioned something about the computer, but I'm not sure if you are bringing that out live too. If so, most programs allow you to send out a midi clock signal which the MPC can sync to... but that still wont work if you don't want to "imprison" with a tempo.
