I am new to the MPC-1000 and just picked one up last weekend. I flashed Akais newest OS (Version 2.1). I am a long time MPC-60 user though, so most of the stuff is very familiar.
However, I wonder - since JJs OS is based on Akai's 1.xx Version) what Akai implemented that is missing in JJs OS? Since I am late to the game I never went through the odeal of dealing with Akai's buggy OS and really appreciate JJs efforts. I don't mind spending the $$$ for his OS 1.xx but I would like to take at least full advantages of what I have right now.

BTW, it was funny to see that Akai had/s problems with their software as well. They were so full of themselves when they parted with Roger Linn because they thought they can do it better. I never was really impressed by the 2k. I found the 1k giving me more sampling time and I can bring in audio tracks (now where the bugs are worked out). The 60 is a little limited in this case.
