What sort of mic did you get? Condenser mics need a power supply to work, I can't remember how many volts, it's called phantom power and is usually found on some of the XLR inputs on mixers and preamps. Also some condensers seem to come with their own pwr supply for phantom power. Usually there's a little button on mixers or preamps for it. Be careful about it, it can make a loud pop when switched plus i have heard it can damage dynamic mics (like SM57s), although i have inadvertently had it on for dynamic mics without incident. Dunno if digi001s have it, some audio i/os with mic preamps seem to. I'm a PC user meself.

Nevermind, i answered my own question. I read on the zzounds web site that digi001 has phantom power. Thanks for the help you gave me.
