2500 all. files work on older mpcs?

i tried to load an all. file on the mpc 2000xl and i get "wrong disk" error. i wonder if anyone else has had this problem. i was gonna track out the beat in protools with the 2000xl cause of problems ive had syncing the 2500. please someone give me feedback the mixing session is this week. and i have to have the PT file before then. thanks everyone .....

The mpc2000xl cant read mpc2500 files. Though u may get an MIDI file loaded that was saved in the mpc2500.

Do it the "ghetto" way and insert a bar with a sharp attacked drum shot at the beginning of the track you're recording. Then line up all the tracks according to the drum shot and chop accordingly. Tedious, yes, but definitely a valid workaround.
