Reason or FL as synth??

yo,

I saw this video http://www.samplekings.com/video/Club%2 ... 20beat.mov
And they're using the sounds of the triton with the MPC. I think its something with MIDI sync. (hit play on mpc, triton starts playing too)

What I wanna know is; Can I use Reason or FL as a synth just like the Triton in the movie? So ik can play basslines in Reason that match with the drumloop in the MPC??

And how do I record this??I dont have a mixer..

Quick answer: yes.

Do you have a decent soundcard, i.e. a studio card of some sort? Every time you work with audio on computers, you risk getting problems with latency, and the only reliable way I've seen to get rid of it is to use a proper soundcard.

What are the settings in Reason and in the MPC

The MPC settings can be found in the manual. You probably want your MPC to act as master and reason to act as slave in this case. The reason settings for this can be set under preferences->advanced midi.

How do you record today? If you use a computer-based setup you can use Rewire to get reasons sound into your main sequencer.

I record with Cubase, I'm not familair with rewire

Rewire is sort of a virtual patch cable. What version of cubase do you use?

Try this:
1. start cubase
2. start reason

Now reason should be up and running in rewire mode. Go to cubase, click on the "devices" menu (if you use sl or sx) and click on "reason". There you can add up to 64 channels of reason->cubase audio transfer.

Go to reason. Create a subtractor.
Go back to cubase. Create a new midi track, you should be able to select "reason subtractor" or something similar in the instrument dropdown.

If everything went ok, then you're running reason as a rewire slave to cubase.
