Be careful Bravo some peeps might find it very rude to suggest to do a search :D anyway logically you want to record tracks to mix 'em down. AFAIK cooledit is in the first place a SOUND editor so you will need a SOUNDcard to get the sound that comes out of your mpc in coolEdit.
If you want to know what soundcard to use i'd say search and thou will find. If you want to record the multiple outs of the mpc (if your mpc has the multiple outputs installed) then a soundcard with multiple inputs might be handy but more pricey. Otherwise you can record the stereo outs with a simple soundblaster or something likewise. Now go and do search before asking those basic questions that have been aske so many times before.

Before posting a question, please use the search function on these forums - you'll find that many of your questions have already been answered - and regulars start getting grumpy if you ask them again...

Word :D
I got some nasty reactions before when suggesting to do a search or to start reading the manual so I try to help or give hints but I agree that one should search before post.

I have also, this question has been answered so many times and some people just skip the search and think it's easier to ask, so they ask. Why should I answer something that has been answered many times before and can be found in the archives easily? Depend on my mood.

The answer, get a sound card and midi cable (for sync purposes).

See, I was in the mood.
