JJ OS makes the 1k pretty damn near equal to the 2500, so whos the fool jahrome? I didnt pay over a grand more for the same features... And 3rd party OSes/Programs/etc are all over the place for MANY MANY systems. (you pointed out the LINN upgrade to the mpc3k/60, WHICH IS A LINN UPDATE, they helped make those machines... so its pretty much as good as an akai update. even though AKAI's OSes are always riddled with bugs and i havent heard much about that in the LINN OSes) Also after using the JJ OS for almost 2 weeks now, i have finished (and saved/tracked out) more stuff than ever on the traveling mpc (well not the best traveler anymore with the 500 coming, but thats why i bought a 1k) The OS fixed a lot of functionality problems and as i stated above, made it as useful and feature laden as the much more expensive 2500, but with slightly worse q-links. Stop being a trouble maker and ask honest questions. I am amazed that you even care about being in the os3 forums when you dont have a 1k...
do you just troll so that you can be an as$hole? If you are going to troll forums, at least learn how to spell and write in a manner which people can understand, moron.

Name ONE Sampler, sequencer , drum machine, computer music program with NO known bugs. They do not exist. Just the intuitive change in file management of the JJ OS is worth 30.00 to me. JJ is the Japanese Roger Rinn . A great thing has happened here. A fellow user and hacker has used his powers for the greater good .. he saw hardware that could be adapted to a much more expensive machine and gave access to features of a unit that was capable of but not maximized to it's potential. Back in the day the 3000 was maxed out as far as potential of the hardware..then came the MPC Linn OS 3.10 that gave the 60 functionallity of the 3000 of course Akai is not going to support it. It would be a bad business move. If you could hack the MPC 2000 and give it all of the MPC 2000xl's functions would Akai want the world to know about it? No . I love Akai products but I am am partial to the older pieces of gear.. The 1000 came along and for it's size it is a bad a** piece. Not to mention it can be one of the crunchiest grittiest drum samplers on the face of the earth. Sounds great..... I have made more dope beats on the 1000 latley than on my 3000 as it is faster and easier to use. The new OS only makes this better and I say forge ahead JJ and for all of the hours orf programming you are well deserved of the money you will make..minus your Paypal fees..( those are a bi**.)

The 2500 is phat as well but mainly due to the fact that it is a 1000 with the pads you need for the MPC experience.. And erqonomically it is more like the 3000 and 2000 which I will say is a smoother way of working. I will problably end up with a 2500 as well but for the road the 1000 is THE BEST MPC EVER MADE, no flip screen to break and no Note variation sliders that break off like th 2000xl...

Yes, JJ says he/she/them actually FIXED the NEW FOLDER bug, and that the same bug probably caused all other file system bugs as well.

They even updated the free beta OS!!!

BUT, they recommend to REFORMAT the hard drive and CF card with the new OS.

First back up your files of course - to a PC/Mac :)

========================

HDD Save trouble solution was carried out.

I corrected the bug out of which an error comes by SAVE.
Since the bug same also as "NEW FOLDER ERROR","DIRECTRY ERROR", "SYSTEM ERR", and "Wrong file"
at the time of LOAD had occurred owing to, it is also corrected.

In order to make this correction perfect, please format HDD by Version1.06 or Version3.06.

An error may come also out of the memory card beyond 256M formatted with PC
by the same cause.
Please also format this by Version1.06 or Version3.06.

This bug is the same not only in NEW OS Version1.0x but the free OS Version3.05.
