Looking for Turntables....

im getting ready to get a turntable.. and all i keep hearing is about quality...well is it better to get one with a built in preamp?...
or a mixer?..
i really dont think i need a real expensive turntable right?.. all im tryin to do is sample.. not do to much scratching...

please help?

yes, it is convenient to get a turntable with a built in preamp. But i can't tell u what u want.

the best thing would probably be a cheap $70 one from a chain store. eg radio shack,circuit city, best buy.

so the ones from radio shack... have built in preamps?.. or no cheap ones do?

how about like a 60 dollar one on ebay?... and with those ones can i not scratch at all?.. not even a lil?

i have a cheap ass sony with a built in preamp, you could probably find something like it at radio shack. Yeah, i scratch on mine -though u are not supposed to. But Ive had it for 6 years, not one problem, not even a needle replacement. just don't be too rough, and make sure u use slip mats.

just out of curiosity, how old are u?

ive got a numark ttx and its great, you can scratch on it (i tried it, but thats it), i got it for £250, dont know where ur from so i have no idea how much they cost.

Check your local pawn shops, garage sales and classifieds. You should be abl to find one pretty cheap, try to get a direct drive one cause they last longer and you can turn back the record easier for sampling.
