Im looking at all the interfaces available and was wondering cats personal experience with an interface and the 1000. theres so many choices now, i know firewire is better than usb.. at first i was lookin at the alesis io 2..but the tech told me they were having big problems with that and midi.

he suggested the presonus firebox..what do you use?? im tryin to see specifically what people use with a 1000. i just dont want to make an expensive mistake!

I use a Delta 1010 which I quite like. It's simple but has the functionality I am looking for. It has 8 1/4" Inputs and outputs, SPDIF in/out, and MIDI in and out. The Delta has never let me down. I should mention though that it is neither USB nor firewire, it has its own PCI card that you install in the computer.

At home I use a Presonus Firepod and nuendo to track and everything works fine for me. I slave the MPC to Nuendo, in case you wanted to know. I've used many other interfaces, the EMU's, DigiDesign and of course the firepod have been my favorites, the tascams being my least favorite due to lack of support.
It probably all depends on your price range, but I often think of the sound interface as one of the most important (and by that token, expensive) elements of a computer based studio. Analog-> Digital and Digital -> Analog converter quality is going to determine the differences in your signal from any non-digital source into the sound interface (In most often cases this is a negative effect, but can sometimes be desirable).
Just my thoughts.
