you gotta realize that all the tracks your thinking of have been mixed and mastered by the highest payed engineers... they could turn a somewhat decent drum sample into hot club banger sound just by mixing it down correctly...

yall have any advice on creating bass?.. or finding it?

Not all the ebay stuff is a scam. i have brought some good kits off of there and made some killa stuff that ive sold to well known artist. At the end of the day it is what you are looking to create out of your head. No matter what sound it is. I mean come on lets be real here, The Neptunes made a living off of choping up drums straight off the Korg Trinity and Triton and those where the drums that came with the machince no extras.

YO SELL YA MPC AND GO BUY A MOTIF!! FOR WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU WANT TO DO THAT IS YA BEST BET. IF YOU REALLY WANT TO ROCK A MPC YOU HAVE TO PUT IN SOME WORK AND FROM READING YA MESSAGES I DON'T THINK YA READY FOR THAT YET.

also how do you lay down ur drums without them overpowering the whole thing... ive tried turning them down.. it just seems like the drums just over power the whole sequence???

hmmmm..... kanye west drums dont sound like j-dilla's (r.i.p.)

what's the point?

if you use just blaze's drums, it's guarenteed that you'll end up making a weak @$$ fake @$$ just blaze sequence.

don't bite

be creative

one word:compressor. then layering and tinkering... I kno what you mean, in the pop shit, they got that punchy kick, nice and crisp but heavy at the same time. compression + layering creatively

go to the record store and dig. Think about wat drum sample your layering on another eg. you might have a kick sound but its got no attack, so find a sample with that "thud". EQ it. Compress it. Craft it-make it your own.

You know what i'm saying?
