Mono samples will be able to use 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.

Stereo samples can use only pairs 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8.

The manual tells you that also.

Does that sound like it might be your issue?

Thanks. No thats not the problem. I have been using 8 outs for ages. I dont know whats changed. I assign the sounds to an output and then specify the inputs from the mpc. Only 1 and 2 are being detected by my sequencer. When i assign other sounds to 1 and 2 they also work. Its as if 1 and 2 are the only ones that work. Very strange. Any advice? Thanks, Ben

Are you sure the problem lies with your mpc? Could it not be that the inputs on your sequencer program don't detect the 3 - 8 inputs ?

Which 8outs boards do you own?

The expensive Akai one or the bootleg Semtec one?

I don't know about their 8 out boards but those 'Semtec' dudes surely make fine explosives. 8)

I'm confused here. How can analog outputs be recognized by your sequencer? do you have an analog trigger-to-midi translator?

My guess is that he has some multi input soundcard and he uses the term sequencer loosely to describe his multitrack software. But then again, since he does not answer any request for additional information, how the heck can we help.
