Yoshimi, when is your unit arriving?
Or you already have it from Noma Musik?

I just figured I'd throw out a note that didn't exist instead.

LOL......yeah your right about that. I would have prefered to buy mine at Sam Ash music. GC was the only place I could get it.

Hope your unit gets there soon Yoshi. :D

I was surprised to see the MPC500 at GC when I went there 2 weeks ago. It took them forever to get shipments of the 2500 when it hit the streets.

i still havnt seen this mini-me with my own two eyes...but heres my question. if youre making beats on the road..starbucks, work, wherever...you'll not only need your MPC..but 1/4 chord to sample in, headphones to listen (and ipod headphones will not do), plus if you tryin to link up with the dude playing guitar next to you on the bus, you'll have to have midi cables on you.

my thoughts?...portable...but not so portable. realistically, you'll have to sample everything you want to sample into your flash card, then hit the road and chop it all up while youre out and about. nobody bringing piles of records of them, a portable turntable, AND all the chords. pardon me for thinking out loud..but do you feel me? -mr.ed.

Yeah I would roll out with all the sounds on the card, and just Make beats.
Save the sampling and chopping for the 2KXL in the lab.
It'll be nice to have this on a looooonnnnnngggggg plane ride like from the US to Australia or China.

This machine is for that, or for makin beats in your bed, in a terrace, or in the bathroom, or in the hospital, or in the school, or in the park, or in a friend's house, or in a little party, or in a car meanwhile a friend drives, connected to car hifi or anywhere. Obviously most of time you'll have it fully loaded of prepared samples via your other mpc or computer etc. But it can do so too. Akai's thought is "if men don't go to MPC, MPC will go to men".
