my scsi is blown on my mpc i noticed this when i went to save and could only see f-rom and floppy as choices i managed to save my sequences program and percussion sounds on my internal floppy but couldn't save the samples i chopped which is ok cause it was only 3 of them and i can easiy resample them. Plus after turning back on my MPC i get scsi not ready messages. im fed up with scsi and zip shit. im basically looking for some good prices on mcd readers than are compatible with the mpc also a cheap on for my pc external or internal pls help me it urks the hell out of me because i wanna get back on my machine as soon as possible but i cant go back to switching out the floppy from pc to xl several times trying to save shit cause it only holds 1.3mb!! i know that i should get an atapi ide one just want some advice on where to get one at a good price because im good for buying shit thats not compatible.

This is what i found after about a hour of searching

http://www.synchrotech.com/products/card-rw_32.html

http://www.psism.com/iisdmc.htm

http://www.amtron.com/reader/iisdmc.htm

which of these three sites would anybody recommend and what type of card would you reccommend and dont tell me to search and also will i be able to install this reader upgrading from floppy? i build and work on my own computers and for others so im not afraid to cut wires.

Yes,you can upgrade from floppy, and here is HOW in details:
http://home.tiscali.nl/%7Esmeyer/mpc/

I would recommend Compact Flash 512 MB card, maybe (but I don't use this capacity) 1024 MB,and that's the biggest you can use.
Don't buy SD cards, since they are not very welcome in these card readres for mpc,well...sometimes they work ok,but most of the time I can see people complaining about them on this forum.

I bought the same reader that is in the instruction page above. You can buy it here http://digitalera.co.uk/readers-and-adapters/ide-readers/ (UK shop)

I think that's it from me.Good luck with the upgrade!
