Is it lame to just learn scratching?

I love scratching but I don't really want two turntables to mix records, I just like making the scratches. Is it lame for me to buy just 1 turntable and a mixer to scratch with?

yeah, motherfukers will know u used only one turntable when u record, that sh*t would be trash. I'm only kidding, no one cares. Maby at a live preformance someone would critisize your incomplete setup.

hell no it aint lame. **** it. i am doing that right now. had two 1200s with a nice pmc-05 iii sitting in the middle, but then i decided i don't beat juggle...and i don't mix...why the **** do i need two turntables? so i sold a 1200 and bought an Emu Pk-6 keyboard. i love scratching but since i'm no turntablist i don't need the 2nd turntable. i can still cut and do all the dope scratches, i just hook the mpc into the line in on the 2nd channel and scratch over my beats.

scratching with just one turntable isn´t lame at all, if you do some cool shit with it, like mixmaster mike in the beastie boys video "three mcs and one dj".
