chopping on the computer

i use acid on the computer to chop up samples and then put them on a zip to pop into the mpc. i chopped up some drum bits last night and put them on the mpc with the help of the mpc editor. i loaded them up and thought they sounded real tinny and thin. they did not sound like that on the computer.
so to test my theory i sampled the same drum sounds from a cd straight into the mpc. sure enough those sounded nowhere as thin as the same hits from the computer.
does anybody know what is up?
maybe the computer program is the problem.
any ideas?

maybe you've accidently processed them in some way, or maybe you saved them at a lower bitrate?
try taking a sample cd, and drop some samples on a zip without using Acid to see if they sound the same on your pc and mpc. If that works, then it's probably some setting in Acid you overlooked.

Check your save paramaters. When you go to save on the save screen where you would name and save your sample check to see if you're saving as stereo or mono, 16 bit etc;

make sure ur output is 12 db's and not 0...go to ur mixer and go to setup u should see it there...it should make ur instruments louder

could it be your speakers? as in, are both the computer and mpc hooked up to the same speakers? Cause 2 differant speakers will give you two differant responses on the same sound. And sometimes those multimedia speakers can boost the bass.

Should definately stay consistant in use with your speakers and get use to one set with all your equipment. Then when you record and master you do a & b tests.

****. . . you used acid on your computer, **** i've heard of over clocking but never tried that. im gonna go get me some!

Maybe the computer has some effects or bass/treble it's adding to your output. The MPC might have some effects or something added to the output as well.

If this is the case then of course each machine will sound different when playing back the same sample.
