Hi,

i try to chop a sample, but the chops dont work with my tempo...(they are to long, or to short)...please, tell me the best way to chop...how do you edit chops...and is it important to know your "Original BMP from the sample" befor you put it in your MP ?

Thx

I didn't want to reply with this answer but i felt that it was important for you to know how I do it...I initially look for good sounds...I find sounds at the beginning of a bar middle and end...when I find the sounds i isolate it by chopping the ends...From here it is all about either time stretching it working with the pitch and sometimes adjusting the overall tempo. I may even dump a sample if the musician slightly changes the tempo on me...it all depends...its a never ending struggle with the sample...I dont go out looking for anything in particular(ie 2,4,8 bar samples and then cutting those in half) , but if i run into a perfect four bar sample i will use it fo sho.
Sometimes i will find samples that arent quite even bars and i will make into it by doubling up one the beats. Everyone has there own ways of chopping and sampling this is just my point of view...The best advice i could give to you is to just continue to play with the samples...Oh one other thing watch out for the beginning and tails of the samples on some they may be very confusing...if you notice that you cant get the first kick right try to cut a bit from the beginning and add a little more on the tail.

I hope I helped,

in program mode, go to params and change the pgm to "poly" in the right-hand corner OR use seperate programs.

In the upper, right hand corner? A single parameter, that means not flipping through the voice overlaps.

Different programs does not mess anything up, on the contrary it keep things more managable and flexible in the long run.
