I'm still on my hunt for a resolution to my Midi problems while using the Moog as a trigger.

I was curious if there is a way that the MPC could echo midi data from one midi channel (the one being physically played) to another midi channel (the one that already is sequenced and playing)?

If so, are there any parameters to control such ie On/Off, What Channel, etc?

I'm stumped. Moog is stumped. and Akai thinks I'm crazy.

I don't think so.

hmmm. a lot of times, midi clock will trigger small things on tracks that have no active channal or data. Your not talking about that tho right?

I don't think so, could you further explain "small things' by maybe giving me an example?

The only time i had midi playing when there wasn't supposed to , is when i had "continuous sample track" set to "ON" on a midi track that was muted.
Maybe you messed with the continuous sample track feature.

I wouldn't really trust Moog's MIDI implementation , but that's a whole different story.
On the MPC the SOFT THRU function determines what happens with the incoming MIDI info from the controller.
It can be various modes ranging from Controlled by sequencer track, OMNI to various outs or sets of outs, ALL of OFF.
The manuals give you the details of the settings.
The question is what Moog are you using and what are the setting in the Moog doing?
Using the Moog as a controller means if the settings in the Moog aren't correct then it may be resending, rechanneling or responding to incoming MIDI data.
This is the type of thing that makes it change patches, parameters, play ghost notes etc.
In a couple of different setups with certain synths I had to turn off the sys-ex and the program changes on the synth to keep them under control.

If you feel like a real challenge, peep my thread with all the info:

Shane try turning the Phatty local to off (I know you said that it was I mean still use the off setting) and change the MIDI send channel to 1 and the MIDI recieve to 2.
Then change the MPC channel for the Phatty to 2B.
Try the Phatty that way.
