Is it possible to connect a dvd drive to the 2000XL?

Sure if you can find a compatible SCSI DVD drive, but my GUESS it will only read cdroms, and no dvd roms.

It would be nice if I could load up a dvdrom full of sounds rather than a zip disk.

So you want to use more than 100mb sounds at once? I wonder how people have produced whole albums on the MPC60?

No. I would like to be able to put in a 4 gig dvd of samples, versus several zip disks. That way I wouldn't have to swap the disks out to get more sounds.
