The 1k seems to be a pretty solid choice. It can do everything you need an mpc to do and more!
The most common complaint is that the pads arent of the highest quality. but there still pretty solid and usable. just not as much as the older model mpc's.

If there wasnt that pad issue with the 1k,I wouldn't even bother with the 2500.

As we speak i have both the MPC 1000 and the 2000 (i got 1 for a great deal) while u cant compare to the pads on the 2000, id never trade the 1000, the harddrive, size and memory expansion would be enough to shape that desision, in my opinion. Enjoy whatever you go with in the end.

i was gonna get the 1k, but then i got a 2k, i had a problem with it, but i fixed it now, and im loving my 2k.
after i get use to it ima paint it red or blue, or other colors that i night think of.
