How do you get rid of the static on some slipmats?

I have an annoyance with my slip mats getting a lot of static just from normal use. When I pick the record off the platter the slip mat sticks to it. How do I get rid of the problem? Will the problem be solved by getting new slipmats??

anti static slipmats. or slipmats that are heavier. or slipmats that have a tighter center hole.

They sell these at a local store. Anyone try these or know anything about their quality?

I know they look sick.....I know nothing about they quality.........also I have never tried it....but I heard you can throw them in the dryer with a fabric softner sheet.......or just cop a better one

I may try the fabric softener sheets. I already ordered a pair of the Sic Shooter mats. I think those would sick on a 1210.

that would create more static IMHO.

just get new ones and that should clear it up , but it sounds like you have a loose ground too. or your to clse to something that creates static that your turns picking up , i have a few slips so when i get tired of one i switch to another so never really come across that prob, but just get some new ones and take them old ones off and you could still use them later just let them destatic.


oh use a plastic from a record sleeve under it too that will work too.

I am not sure but I don't think it will make it worse....just don't put a "Price Chopper" or a "Savemart" fabric softner sheet in there thinking you doing something
