I must say lot better then 2000xl but thats my take. The flash makes it easy to move waves around, BUT the upgrade is very important. The memory is a must need the more the better. Memory even in PC's and Macs are important if your running lots of plug ins and VST's. I myself use 2gigs of memory in my pc and i want more.The same goes for external Gear. To really see why you payed 900us or 1249can you really need to max the sh+t out of it.I use a motu 828mkii and the sound is crazy better then any normal vst. The midi is just like any controler i have a evolution 61 key and they are a very good mix. Just like anything it depends on what music you make! Ableton live and the mpc1000 makes nice drum and bass and house. It really likes cubase SL2 the midi works well. My take upgrade! Thats it and stop crying that it has limits. Life is more easy without limits.
