I didn't notice this until about 5 minutes ago. In the normal program screen, when you have a sample highlighted and press WINDOW, the one shot/note on screen appears. If a sequence is playing, you can't switch this from note on to one shot and vice versa until you stop the sequence.

BUT...

if you go to the Global Parameters screen (MODE + PAD 11) and highlight one shot/note on while a sequence is playing, you can change it back and forth during sequence playback!!! This may not seem like a big deal to some, but for live applications this could be brutal (e.g. have drum chops with say a kick that has a hi hat after it, a snare with a slight roll after it, etc., so the samples aren't just the first sound that triggers, assign them to the same mute group, and record a sequence (leave a little space between the drums) with the samples set to NOTE ON. Now, when you play it back, go to the global screen, select whole (if that program only has your drum sounds) and toggle back and forth between NOTE ON and ONE SHOT... you can create some nice variations on the fly... there's all kinds of applications)

Once again, JJ all day...

Hey Savilion, I know you don't like the 1000, and I'm okay with that, but let me enjoy my discovery. Akai made this possible for the 2000, but akai didn't make it possible for the 1000, so whats your point? I hope you're putting as much energy into your beats as you are into hating on the 1000...

i think that some people are so proud of their mpc 2500
that they considere the 1000 oand 500 as so far inferior, as they were
spending a lot of money....
ok, maybe it s not easy for them to accept that the 1000 is going to get more and more advanced, like the 2500as next, but i think that we ve to learn as mpc user to work together, i found out as a new mpc 1000 user
the greatness of this community, very blessed by jj s work, breaking the
software monopole of sytems that are trying to hold the inspiration of musicians down, forcing them this way to spend more money..... we need more jj s and more sense to help each other.....to get out fat beatz.....!
