Thats why you track out your stuff before hitting the studio (it's called pre-production)... besides, I was just giving an example... I don't do that because I don't need to, (I haven't messed with the PS1 in about 6 years), but the fact that it's possible is pretty cool. Someone could buy a PS1, and the mtv music generator for like $50 and challenge you to a beat battle :D whatever, just food for thought. How do you feel about the 4000 compared to your beloved 2500 Savilion?

[quote="savilion"]"and if you really wanted to, you could bounce your stuff out one by one and sync them up in a DAW like Logic or Pro Tools."

....I wonder what the engineer at the studio would say when I busted out my ps2 and was like ...track this **** down for me HAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA[/qu

Yeah they'd be like. "You own an MPC 2500 what the hell is wrong with you!" (while checking the ps2 for midi ins) they probably would think that you were bringing it for a lil bit of Madden in the middle of mastering songs!!!

yeah this kid used cool edit pro to track his beats to his pc thru the 1/8 mic outlet (now if you seen his setup you'd be like ??? until you hear his beats. well cool edit pro was indeed a sick hoe that slept with everybody then all of a sudden his computer fell ill and died from not wrapping it up.

I guess you could make beats on playstation if your hurting yea.....sure why not.. my point is ....what u use sometimes limits you SOMETIMES...face it your not doing no crazy midi work with a playstation

I like the fact that the 4000 is 24 bit ....I have some issues with my 2500 aswell...its not perfect ...and I m sure after jj's done with it ..it will be ... its jokes that you think I hate the 1000 so much .....I just said it wouldent be my choice and people jumped on my like I was a nazi ....I used my homies 1000 for a weekend at my cottage and enjoyed it...but was glad to get home to some big pads like a fat lady on her period. thats all.... I m sorry if I came across cocky ....maybe I v just had enough of people acting like my choice wasent a right one just caz jj put an os.on the 1000...believe me I m not jellious caz I plan on owning a 1000 oneday......just need to point out the ovious hardware diffrences...along side some os diffrences like direct recording on every track.....

but maybe I shouldent even say anything and just let it be because hey if your happy with what you got do it up ....but I m not gonna go rub it in a 4000 users face that they wasted their money because they are not seeing an update and jj implemented some 4000 stuff in the 2500... I ll just be humble and be happy I have the features

funny as hell.

On the real tho' savilion your opinion was needed on this post.

you went and bought your MPC 2500 based on what you needed.

your first mpc was an mpc 2000. so i understand why you needed those

the extra 1/4 outs, midi outs, and bigger pads.

When I heard your music i could tell that you were indeed a professional.

For some of us on the boards the MPC 1000 is our first beat box. So after

all the heartache that WAKAI put us MPC 1000 users thru we can be a bit

brash and full of pride about our baby! (we all got to watch it grow up!!!)

the fact that we recieved features

like this is just unreal and unexpected. but i REALLY love the fact that i

can carry my MPC 1000 in my bookbag (I pad it up with an old hoodie) .

And i just had to let all the new

kids know that getting an MPC 1000 for their first mpc experience not only

isnt bad at all, but slightly easy on the wallet too :)

i hope that i dont have to glue my pads  i had it for so long (2 yrs) that

maybe its possible that i may have to go thru this ordeal one day.

in regarding to the whole ''my-mpc-is-better'' discussion : the equipment doesnt matter(only the quality of the sound in that point of view) : it's all about the person who's behind the boards...

Good ant, I was pretty sure you and Gun would get my sarcasm, especially with the radioshack recording circuit and the speaker microphone joke. Apparently Sav has no clue what that is.

And Savillon, if all you can attack is my jab at your english (which is horrific, honestly "caz"? is that cuz as in cousin or cause as in because....) then you really need to learn to argue. You keep making a fool out of yourself... contradicting previous posts with the preceding ones... All anyone would have to do to see that you have the intellect of a 12 year old is look at this thread. And you obviously were trying to cast dispersions on other posters intelligence, just look at your posts.
Also, my ego? I never posted anything about my reputation or acomplishments... while you name dropped (sixtoo?) and tried to flame everyone in the thread (a thread about a piece of gear AND an OS you have NO experiance with). Talk about an ego kid.... you should either grow up, or keep doing bad mixtapes. I'll keep doing what im doing and stay to myself (without TRYING to brag) thank you.

" but again, as pointed out, you would never be able to understand that." caz your jesus right
Also how does you not understanding sarcasm make me jesus christ? Or do you not even know what the word sarcasm means? Everyone else seemed to get the joke.
Just pointing out how moronic you were, and now that I have seen Ant's post as well as other's I think it is settled.

Bees80 you are right on the **** money! I've used 2k's my 4k my 1k and the 60 and to be honest, its just about your imagination and mixing abilities, gear is gear, people can do amazing things with a Roland 760 and a prodikeys, or just a playstation, or even just a sp-303. Dont trip on gear lust unless you have money, and if you want a lot of features... buy a 500 dollar mpc1000 and the 30 dollar OS. Or just pay 100 for an old s2000 and another 100 for a half-way usable keyboard and go to town! Or hell... buy a guitar/bass/flute/etc and learn how to play it!

P.s. lots of people have scored lots of bad indy movies, (watch Overdrawn At The Memory Bank or Devil Woman for examples) when I mentioned variety I was mostly refering to playing in a band or engineering someone ELSE'S music, you know... a change of pace from that single person production team we all know so much about with the technology that surrounds us, think of it as a break in the madness. I really dont want to shut you down as much as it may seem, but I hate to see people bashing another person's creative talent, especially as Gun mentioned on a semi-newb board like this where many of the people with a 1k are getting their first taste of using hardware for music or making music at all.

I bet Sav posts within 2 hours of this post.

"I never posted anything about my reputation or acomplishments... while you name dropped (sixtoo?)"

if you read this whole thread someone asked me what I have done so I let them know.... keep putting your foot in your mouth. and why u so suprized with sixtoo he is a small artist out of canada...didnt think it was so hott on the street hahah!

"I have seen Ant's post as well as other's I think it is settled"

whats settled?

"when I mentioned variety I was mostly refering to playing in a band or engineering someone ELSE'S music, you know... a change of pace from that single person production team we all know so much about with the technology that surrounds us, think of it as a break in the madness."

can I join your band?? what the hell do you care what I m doing! again not even close to what this thred was about but ok,,, I ll pick up my guitar and go by the lake ...or maybe engineer a 80's pop metal band...why!

"(a thread about a piece of gear AND an OS you have NO experiance with). " again I HAVE USED jj's OS and the mpc 1000 ...but I dont think you even know how to read...if your just gonna reply with out reading I m done with your ignorents

if you'd just wonder how many dope beats you guys could have made instead of pointless argueing about completely nothing..
