Problem with sampling to my cd player

I recently bought a new cd player, i tried sampling something with it and my mpc 2000xl, but for some reason, when i sample from my cd player, u can barely here it when i sample it, even if i put the record level high? anyone know why

Not sure what type of cd player u using but if its one WITHOUT a volume knob then connect it to an mixer to get an higher level and more control over the output sound.

something is wrong, no matter how sh!tty a cd player is, nothing is that bad.

-first figure out if the cd player is the problem, check how high the levels are in the sampling screen.
-Are u plugging it into a headphone jack? If thats the case raise the volume on the cd player.
-maby a bad/wrong cable or wrong connection
