??? ON CHOPPING BEGGENING AND END

After SLICING your samples into lets say 16 region...How do i get my chops to go along perfect...no lil silent parts or off beat parts....in each part of the region u can see the sound.how do i know what part of the beggening and ending of the slice to edit...thx

or is there other things i need to do before getting to the editing of the beggening and ending of each slice

If you don´t know what you want in your chops, you´ll never get it right.

If you know what you want then use your ears, and make rough initial estimations with your eyes. If you want single drum hits out of a loop or break then listen to your slice, is the slice beginning at the strike of the drum or is it some decay/reverb from the previous hit in the beginning? Are the beginnning of next drum present in the end of the slice? Adjust start- and end points until you have a clean slice. A way to make finding artefacts easier to find is to pitch down the sample, if it plays slower it´ll be more time for you to detect problems. Although I don´t know if you can detune the sample while in Slice mode, and I don´t have my MPC here to check it.
It´s real easy, although a little time consuming to get good slices, as long as you know what you want, initialy that takes practice.

I want the whole sound...its like 7 seconds...but when it chops it into slices it shows the writing of the track....what i want to know is there a way i should match up the slices like the end of slice 1 to the beggening of slice 2....or is it just based on my ear when i should press my pads so the timing can be good

Are you talking about having the slices play smooth and without gaps in the sequencer or are you talking about in the acutal slicing process?

You can´t just be rambling and expect people to understand you. Be specific.

When i sequence them...when i press on the pads is that just bad timing or does it have to do with the editing...and how can i edit them when im slicing the samples?

Ok. Problems will occur while sequencing if you´ve sliced improper.

For example:
You´re about to slice a drumloop, you want it in 16 slices and the MPC divides your loop into 16 slices.
Chances are (hopefully) that the drums in the loop are not played exactly on time, as the MPC just divides the sample into equal size slices the attack of a drum can wind up at the end of a slice, or a slice can contain half a second of silence in the begining before the actual drum hits.
Those snippets of silence or stray attacks will certainly cause problem when sequencing your slices.
You must therefore manually go through every slice and adjust the start- and end points of every slice to start at the very begining of the drum and end the very moment before the following drum starts sounding. Info on editing the slices are found on page 61 in the manual (71 in the PDF) in the chapter on editing samples.

Once you have clean slices, possible sequencing problems will be down to your timing and / or editing skills, but it´ll be a lot easier when working with correct slices.

thx alot man it makes alot more sense greatly appreciate it...what if u want to sample lets say 5 seconds of a song...and want to loop it over and over making it the major part of ur track?how would u edit that?or would u just take that 5 secs of the song and not slice it into smaller pieces but just playing them 5 seconds over and over?

The best and basically only way of knowing what suits your needs best is to try your different theories by putting them to practice. It´ll reveal what is best and it´ll give you valuable experiences.
