I upgraded my OS, but the thing that the 2500 still has over the 1000 is the 8 outs. Is there a way to convert that without a lot of soldering or a way to seperate past 4 outs without using the midi. I know I can get a virtual 6 using the stereo out, but I want a more solid method. Holla at me!

nah it's not gonna happen without a LOT of work/a specially coded os.

Err... it's an actual six outs with the main (stereo) outs...

True, it is an actual 6, but for my money it's virtual if it doesn'y say track 5 and track 6. It's like you're rigging it to be six.

I saw this board that converts the 2000xl to 8. I was trying to figure out if you could connect that to the 1000 and then redo the back pannel to harness it. I've seen people do a lot crazier shit than that, so I'm sure you could do it. I just didn't know if the clip would connect or if it's a totally different connection.

Ahhh....no. Just buy another 1000 for the extra outs or get what you wanted in the first place...an MPC with more outs.

i'm sure there is a way to re program the mpc (i couldn't do it) but for SOMEONE else to prgram it so the stereo outs AND the digital outs could work together
thus would allow 8 outs all together instead of 4

is this possible??
sounds logical

Whether that's possible or not will entirely depend upon how the relationship between the digital and analog stereo outs is implemented on the MPC's circuitboard. If the audio and digital outs are tapped off the same physical bus inside the MPC, then I wouldn't imagine that this could be done by re-programming alone. If however, there's an internal multiplexer that switches the signal between the digital and analog stereo out, then you might be in business.

You guys are starting to sound like the fellaz in the MPC 4000 forum...maybe I need to go over there to see if they have started programming there own OS.

Yeah...he would know. You only need six outs if you only have a 4 track cassette recorder.
