i need help ~!!!!!( mpc 1000)

i just got a mpc 1000...
there's a preset programs and sounds already built in this machine and pops up everytime i start the machine up..


how the hell am i supposed to save my songs without having to save all the other demo songs and sounds getting saved

......i tried deleating the programs first but then the regular program mode wont work..


maybe be i soulda invested more and got the 4k instead



please help me out ... much love

Not sure where you're going wrong, but
a) If you delete everything from RAM, that includes Programs, so you can't assign samples to pad unless you create a New program.
b) you can stop the autoloading of the internal sounds and sequences (see Manual pg 83 bottom). Then, when you boot up, Program mode just gives you an empty Program to work with.

Me, I don't mix use "Save Entire Memory" at all, that mixes up Programs with Sequences/Songs.
- I tend to "Save All Sequences and Songs" in their own folder, and Programs (PGM files) in the folder with the associated Samples, so I can txfer the whole lot between card and PC disk knowing all the samples can be located.
- When you save a Program, you can optionally save the samples used by that Program (good idea if you modified them), but it doesn't throw in anything unnecessary (like the onboard sounds).

You'll get the hang of it, just keep Programs and Samples separate from Sequences and Songs, and don't use "Save Entire Memory" unless you really mean it.

I have the 1k but I think the 4k is the total package mos def! But if your a newbie learn the 1k first before u cop the 4k!
